DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK
I decided to apply to your project with my art works made a several years ago, when I was working on sleepers (dreamers).
Themes of my earlier works are standing on vigilance during (one) dream. Combining different painting techniques on different panels, my sleepers with different kinds of texture make one concept which is located in interior or in the open air. Their dream designs position of body, and every integral concept is new and unique story itself.
From the cycle ”Confession of one dream” (2006-2008)
This work (painted fabric which is put on plumber pipe) represents one of my sleepers.
All human beings have an ability to relax the body and brain into the silence of sleep. Sometimes, we think about what happens during sleep. I prefer to think about those dreams that are created when I’m awake.
Sometimes, one of those dreams is none other than light-hearted fantasy. Sometimes, there are produced by pain, unpleasant, sadness or extremely happiness.
Because of that, my dreamer is trying to awaken a new faith in the hearts of non believers. He/she is dreaming and seems like he/she is praying.
Sleepers from the cycle ”Confession of one dream” (2008)
On those photos objects (I was painting on plumber pipe) are exposed in the exterior and for their exposition weather conditions have big importance. In this case they need wind to flap woof, which is somewhat elusive, just like our dreams…
My hopes and desires are often so strong, so I can’t make a different between real world and my dream world. Sometimes I wonder which world has more/less sense. One dream has a magnificent ability to propel my life onward.
Don’t we all love to see ourselves getting better and better? For me, sleeping and waking represent light and dark, birth and death- and dream allows me to keep myself in space without borders, without limit, without thoughts. There is a stage where time is not, where I am not. That space rises new idea, new emotion- new life. Exactly that component of my dream nourishes myself to awaken, arise and be!
